And there I was, a September morning on the Alaska Highway, right where I needed to be 🧡 Yes, I survived the summer and am alive. Very much so.

Simple living on my favourite ranch, in the valley of all valleys. You might have noticed I haven’t been active on social much lately. That’s mainly because I’m back in the mountains and forests of western Canada which makes me wanna live in the moment like no other place, and in particular out here in the Blaeberry Valley. This is where my Canadian love story first began in late 2013, after one year on the road travelling north from Lima, Peru. I wanted to continue all the way to the Yukon and Alaska but had my heart stolen only a few hours across the Canadian border. Several years later I’ve still only seen a tiny fraction of this gigantic country which is why I’m finally off to the remote north for a while, meaning I’ll probably be even more quite. Or I’ll be super inspired, find wifi between the trees and start posting photos until you choke, I don’t know?? Regardless, have a gloriously radical summer, remember to laugh a lot and stay true to your dreams 🌱

Soothing bedroom vista by the Norwegian Sea... A couple of hours earlier I’d been hanging off a giant rock wall further inland, thinking my hands and toes would soon be falling off my limbs. We’d lost the sun, the wind had picked up and suddenly none of that lovely spring warmth was left in the air. Some may say mid-May is still early for rock climbing above the arctic circle, although it probably comes down to me being too soft. Regardless, I was in happy place once I snapped this cliché tent shot before crawling into my sleeping bag that night. Sometimes the simple, quite act of watching a mountain with its surroundings brings me more joy than climbing it ever would have.

It had been a beautiful and busy day out here, but we aimed for another late start and found the summit of this Kvaløya classic more or less deserted at 10pm. We then bathed in the visual splendour for a bit before carving our tracks in the soft powder now tinted pink, on our way back down to the ocean. Thank you Mama Nature.

We started our little sea to summit mission at 8pm that day - It doesn’t get dark in the northernmost corner of the European continent in May so why not? Encountered a storm but kept on climbing and arrived at the summit when the sun found a crack on the horizon and set fire to the sky. It was close to midnight and we spent a good moment wondering if it was for real, before riding back down to our cabin to have dinner at 1.30am. #mittnordnorge

I have no reason to share this photo other than to get an excuse to say trees are awesome 🌿 Planet Earth in its wildest form is a piece of art. Agree on that and act like we mean it, shall we? 🧡

Although spring, it was windy and cold and we were out chasing the light on the glaciers of the Mont Blanc massif. What followed after the setting of the sun was a long, dark and muddy ski/walk/crawl out, until we eventually stumbled over the doorstep of Moö’s for some late night dinner. Tired and thirsty I didn’t even bother taking my harness off, just jugged 5(?) litres of water and cried a tear of happiness once our food was finally served. My favourite kind of Saturday night.
