Six days, 5895 meters above sea level, amazing views, amazing experience.

Money makes the world go round they say, but try to make it go round without water and fresh air. Photo from a bluebird day in the mountains of Zermatt last year; Alex demonstrating a fine way of using the local oxygen. #buyless #livemore #blackfriday #blackfuture
Two seasons colliding at Two Jack Lake, two weeks back - a place of undeniable beauty that’s been photographed approximately 500 gazillion times. I often wonder what it felt like to stand by these tourist hotspots alone in silence, before the bus loads of people started arriving. Or even back before roads, when indigenous people still called these woods home, and respected them for their sacredness. Time changes everything, but we’re speeding it up like never before.
Wrapped up another six months in this spectacular playground on a frozen turquoise sea with this lovely chick. Apart from a fish cruising by beneath the transparent ice we had the place for ourselves, and our grins stuck to our faces to the point it hurt... Another one for the memory bank.
Once upon a time in Washington. Love the forests and they will love you back 🌿💛
Natural wonders by the Pacific, where temperate rainforests stolen out of fairy tales meet an equally marvellous coastline. Swim beyond that soothing vista and you’ll soon hit a more sobering reality known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch; the largest accumulation zone of ocean plastic on Earth. If our planet thrives we do too, but the opposite is just as true and some days it’s hard not to feel the urge to crawl up in a ball and cry for how little the general public seem to understand our interconnectedness. Happy weekend y’all 🥳
The latest addition to my print gallery; a shot from a glorious autumn evening in my favourite mountains a few weeks back. What I wish the millions of people visiting this part of the world each year would fully understand is that we are part of this, not spectators. I wish everybody would bring that back home with them, and let it be a friendly reminder that we should live life accordingly. One of my many dreams is for my photos to find their way to the homes of people and inspire a similar set of emotions on a daily basis. If you know someone who might like this photo on their wall, feel free to tag and share. It really helps ❤️
This place... I spent two serene weeks here, in a wooden cabin far, far away from it all - reading, paddling, fishing, hot tubbing, swimming, doing acro yoga - before we got wings and took off to our next destination, even deeper into this First Nation wilderness. What amazes me again and again when I align myself with the flow of things is the remarkable people I tend to attract into my life, as well as all those random, incredible experiences. Be truly grateful for what you have and you’ll soon find yourself having a thousand more things to feel grateful for. Happy I had @timothy_tan93 to share the joys of this chapter of my summer with, because happiness shared doubles.
Christian in his natural habitat. 🏔 You can’t tell from picture no. 2 but heavy loads of rain were actually being dumped all around us, which turned this 12-pitch Canmore classic into a fun vertical race. Of all the mountains I’ve seen in the world the Canadian Rockies still inspires me the most.
Did you ever fall down into a deep imaginary valley that didn’t seem to have any exit, then fully gave in to the flow of things and allowed yourself be guided by whatever forces are out there? It’s like driving a car blindfolded, but avoiding the urge to fight for control, and instead trust it to take you where you need to go. It doesn’t make sense, and you can find a hundred reasons why you wouldn’t do it. Last spring was a struggle both mentally and physically for me. Long story short my body was broken and I’d lost all sense of direction, and a lot of my general stoke for life. Eventually, I did surrender and let myself be guided by nothing but a feeling, which took me back across the Atlantic and on a very indirect route from Canmore to Alaska. All the beautiful people, all the amazing places… three months of learning, being, connecting and growing. Fast forward to the end of summer and I find myself back in southern Alberta, not entirely sure where I’m going but fully confident that I am exactly where I need to be. I feel rewarded beyond words and so so so full of gratitude for everything and everyone in my life. Intuition is powerful. Some seriously magical things tend to happen when you stop fighting the current of your heart and instead swim with it 100%, it blows my mind every time. Thank you all so much for your kind and loving words and support for my work throughout the years. They mean more to me than you can imagine! Some of you have been asking if it’s possible to buy prints of my photos, and I’ve finally gotten my act together and set up an online store with a selection of my photos for sale. I’m working with an awesome high quality print lab that delivers worldwide and has a 100% print guarantee, meaning love the result or get refunded, no questions asked. I will donate 10% of the profits to a tree planting initiative working hard to reforest the world one tree at a time. Because I can, and because trees are awesome. More details on my website soon 🙂 Link in bio. For any questions, input or whatever, feel free to shoot me a message, I’m always happy to hear from you ❤
