A few lonely pine trees that got spared when the rest of the forest was clear cut, here highlighted by the aurora and the waxing moon a couple of weeks back.
I’m mildly obsessed with cabins and small living spaces. It’s something about the simplicity and feeling of being tightly enclosed that I find so comforting.
I love meeting people who dream big, and Björn, the visionary and owner of @auroraigloohotel in Jokkmokk, sure qualify to that list.
I cannot quite recall a prettier winter, but maybe that’s because I wasn’t ever fully present for it, at least not in my native northern Sweden due to my nomadic spirit.
Somewhere here in the red deserts of the US my life took a new direction just over a decade ago.
This gal. She left city life in France to follow a calling, bought a house in the forest of Swedish Lapland and started a successful nature tourism business, all by herself. That’s pretty rad.
Two out of the over 20 (I kid you not) moose we saw that day, within a 30 minute time frame while driving to the mountains of Nikkaluokta. It was wild.
Meet Chris and Dorothy, two unexpected friends I made in Canada a couple of summers ago. This has nothing to do with mountains or the arctic winter, but everything to do with love and kindness.
To me, she’s a powerful teacher in many ways. She’s like a wise lady who’s been around since the beginning of time, who’s seen it all, who knows it all.
